Question Help with polishing

My plan for next week is to polish and seal my truck. My plan was to use sip for the hood and roof. Then 106ff for the rest since it is not is very bad shape. I ordered some power gloss because I have a very deep scratch. Now I know I can't make it disapear but I want to make it less noticable. It is on my rear drivers side panel about 3 inchs long. Do I have to compound the whole panel or just the scratch area? Oh yeah I will be using a pc with 6 and 4 inch pads.

Well you dont have to compound the whole panel, you can just spot polish the scratch. But that area *might* look different than the rest of the car/panel.
