Review: Shop-Vac®2.5G/2HP Vacuum

This is a follow-up thread from here http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...8-new-toy.html

Now, to business! I have been looking for a while for a nice shop-vac or any wet dry vacuum with at least 3HP, but for right now, they were out of my budget. I went to different places: Sears, Home Depot, K-Mart, Lowe's, etc looking for the right one. The closest one to this was a Craftsman 2G/1.5HP for $30.00+tx. I was about to jump on it, but then my last place was Lowe's, and found this beauty for the same price with 1 more HP than the Craftsman.

Initial impression out of the box: Nice shape, very lightweight and super easy to carry. Tried to put th tool holder, and that gave me a little hard time to get, since it had some extra plastic around. The tool holder has 4 holes in it to put your tools, but you can really fit only 2! The cord wraps nicely around the tool holder, but if you want to make it easy, take the tools out of the way. But it's ncer since some vacs do not have the tool feature anyways. Just wished the power cord was a little longer.

Cleaning ability: This sucker really surprised me! Despite being a little thing on the outside, it packs a lot of cleaning power. Picked up everything without any probelms. Used on my wife's Honda, and the interior came back as new! Noise was there but it was not something bad for me, a lot quieter than other vacuums around, and a whole lot quieter than mi neighbor's one(He has a Bissell Upright he uses for the hous as well for the car)

Final impression: Really happy with the results given by this little machine. Packs a lot of power for such a small thing. If you are looking for a nice wet/dry vacuum, and do not want to spend a lot of money, this vac is or you! Will recommend anytime! Just need to test the blower and wet pick up features, which will be done later on.

Thanks for reading!
Jose

You just beat me to posting a picture, Sparkie. I was going to use the same one.

Anyway, that is a nice, inexpensive vacuum. I have one and use it alot because it's very easy to lug around. Not too loud either.

Cleaning it is a breeze too. Just snap off the lid and empty in the trash. There is also a paper like liner that you can hose off without much fuss.

Solid choice, Bigfoot.

I have that model and use it alot, you can bring it into the car with you.
I got a free little detailing kit with it.
If you wanted to buy the extra parts it was like $14

I have this shop vac 5 Gallon, 5.5 HP (Peak) Heavy Duty Portable Wet\Dry Vacuum . It's 5 gallons and 5.5 peak HP. I am very impressed by this unit. It is small, quiet, and does the job very well.

I looked at that one as well, Budman, but my budget was tight, so, I had to go for something $40.00 or less. but nice machine, though
