Why Use Dawn?????

ive Noticed Over The Few Monthes Ive Been Here Some Of You Guys Use Dawn Soap To Wash Your Car. Im Wondering Why ?? Its A Dish Soap. Why Not Use A Car Wash Soap Ment For Cars

Dawn is used by some for an initial wash to remove wax. However I do not recommend this. There are other products made for car paint finishes that will do the same thing. Leave the Dawn in the sink!

I don't on my cars, but sometime you need the high pH of dawn to really strip the dirt and cheap wax off the paint. IMO It's best not too. I know Zaino said to use Dawn before using their products.

P21s makes a paint cleanser. Try that or even Meguiar's APC+ with a 400 to 1 dilution ratio. Solvent is a no no unless you use something like Meguiar's Body solvent to remove tar and such. Try claying your vehicle, it will remove the wax as well and clean the paint from contaminants.

why is solvent a nono?i have a solvent from a detail company they say its safe on all paints

Like menitoned dawn is used to strip old wax and such.

I have used dawn before on really oxized paint to help, its not a regular occurnce but it is smothing that can be usefull. Dont write it off. There is always a time and a place
