I've found that since I started using the two bucket method I go through a lot more water because the mitt isn't going back into the wash bucket, so whatever water is left in it ends up in the rinse bucket.

| | | When doing the traditional wash then about 1.5 gallons in the wash bucket. When using rinseless wash, it's about 2-3 gallon in the wash bucket.
The water bucket I jus fill up and add a grit guard. 2 bucket method unless the car is already really clean, then I add a grit guard to the wash bucket. |

| | I actually use less water since I've been using the Shmitt. I used to use 2 gallons of wash water and now I find I can do my entire SUV with one.
