Poorboy's product line

First off I am new to the forum, detailing was my former line of work through high school and college. Anyway, I have just purchased a Makita 9227 and I came across this site and let me tell you it's a detailers dream.

So I have some plans this spring to polish my summer car, the car itself is in great shape (minor swirls) so nothing too difficult. The part I am going to focus on is my trunk lid which I just had re-sprayed and is in need of wet sanding. I am familiar with the process but I am interested in the Poorboy's product line. Can someone recommend some of their products to take a wet sanded panel and make it look like glass?

Here is what my list consists of currently, keep in mind there are extras in there as I need to stock my garage with product for future projects.

Poorboy's SSR2 Medium Abrasive Swirl Remover 16 oz.

Poorboy's EX Sealant with Carnauba

I do not have my heart set on these products, so if there are other recommendations for my wet sand project I would love to hear them.

I love Poorboy's products. I almost have their whole line. Now that being said, I don't use them with a rotary. With a wool or cutting pad you could use Poorboy's Pro Polish to remove the sanding marks. IMO, the SSRs compliment the dual action polisher the best. For strictly rotary work, you may want to look into the Optimum line of polishes. If you have or are thinking of a PC, then the SSR line would be best for you. The rest of the product line would be fine. Poorboys Spray and Wipe is something everyone should own...

Poorboys IMO is unbeatable for the price, haven't used their polishes, but their wash, EX-P, Natty's Blue etc are awsome. That package Scott posted is good, just ad some Poorboys SSS wash and your set (obviously some extra micros etc).

Well after some reading and comments I have decided on ordering the following:

Optimum Polish New Formula!
Optimum Compound New Formula!
Poorboy's Polish with 100% Carnauba
Poorboy's EX-P Pure Sealant
CCS 7.5 inch Orange Light Cutting Pad
CCS 7.5 inch Coarse Green Cutting/Polishing Pad
CCS 7.5 inch White Polishing Pad
CCS 7.5 inch Gray Finishing Pad
CCS 7.5 inch Blue Finessing Pad

I watched the tutorial videos on wet sanding (well done btw) and he was using the Optimum products with an orbital.

Of course all the pads are probably not needed but for a later project or what ever they are just nice to have. Feel free to comment and let me know if I should be adding anything.

Personally I love the Edge 2K pad kit, I would also grab Natty's Blue, for 15 bucks the wax is incredible for what it offers, I have a couple high end waxes and still impressed by NB, gives a gorgeous, dark, wet finish.

Optimum line is great, some people had a hard time learning it as it takes longer to break down and has long work times (which is good). I started out with the old version of OP and OC and learned on them, never had any issues

Thanks for the comments surfer. So your saying add the Natty's Blue and eliminate the Poorboy's Polish? Or use it right after that stage? I will look into the the pad kit you mentioned right now.

i would say the pb polish w/carnuba is uneccesarry...just get the NB...you will be very happy with it's results and durability...
