| I have been using the foam gun at least twice weekly on Vette, and at least once weekly on the CTS.
The new gun soap (purple) is very foamy and seems to adhere well to the car as a presoak. The viscosity of the soap has me confused as I have never seen such a liquid soap to date. I have also tried Z7, Poorboys Suds, DP Wash, and UPP Soap and consider none other than Poorboys to really come anywhere near the sample gun soap in foam and ability to clean from the gun specifically. (they are all great via bucket -- and I have a bottle of P21S yet to try)
I always leave my gun setting on the second pin (or hole) from the left. I think it has to do with pressure, and mine is great especially using the Dramm shutoff versus the Gilmore Gun. I usually add between 1.5 and 2.0 ounces of soap and around one 8 ounce cup of water. (DO NOT USE HOSE TO FILL CANISTER WITH SAMPLE SOAP AS IT FOAMS IMMEDIATELY, USE A PAPERCUP). I go over the entire car from top to bottom including wheels, undercarriage, and wells to presoak. I then spot spray as I wash and keep a bucket of clean water to rinse mitt often. (I used Grit Gard but seems unnecessary as not alot of sediment in bucket). I truly believe the presoak works as the initial foam takes on a light grey appearance and while washing it is a brighter white.
I dont particularly care for the minty scent of the sample soap, and seems heavy enough that even a clean canister still smells like it at next washing. (I wash gun and canisters out well, fill with water and run gun for a minute of clear water). But it works so good, they could make it smell bad (ever smelled Optimums 4 in One product) and I would still use it.
