Slow or More Passes?

Question using the PC. I use slow movements to break down the polish and that works well for me. Usually about 3-5 minutes per panel depending on how bad it is. My friend says he likes to use fast movements and just do more of them. Does his technique even work or is the best way to use slow movements? TIA guys and girls

I vote for slower over lapping passes to do paint correction. It has been my experience that moving fast does not provide the heat necessary to break down the polishes that I use.

I start by spreading the polish fairly quickly at a low speed, then as it begins to get to a working stage, I crank the PC up to 5 or 6 and start doing slow passes, alternating vertically/horizontally. It's been working for me.

When I first started using the PC, I was moving it much faster than I do now, and had less than stellar results. So...at least for me, fast passes didn't work. I just don't think it gives the polish time to actually polish a particular area of paint if you pass over it too quickly. Just my unscientific thoughts.

I'm assuming you've watched the XMT videos on autogeek, but they show it by spreading the polish around the area on speed 3, and then slowly work in the polish with overlapping strokes on speed 5-6.

doesn't sound like a good technique to me. Considering the time involved to do each pass to put polish on and remove it, his several quick passes will most likely take longer than one or two slow passes. And not to mention you would use up a lot more polish in the process.

I think this question is like asking which products work the best. If the end results are the same, I don't think there's a right or wrong way. Have to compared your results with his?
