no swirls ... but a couple small scratches and chips have now been viewed. Probably time to sell the old Vette for something new. At 2 yrs old and 7000 miles, do I have any buyers ???? Occasionally washed, and polished

You could keep it in the garage>!

Or you could do what everyone else does, rinse real good use two bucket method and go to town with the PC every so often....

Here are some tips I can think of to at least minimize, but not neccessarily avoid siwrls...

You may want to try a foam gun. I use one as a sort of pre-wash to the 2-bucket method.
Use a quality wash mitt, rinse it frequently and don't scrub too hard when washing.
Use a WW towel or leaf blower to dry.
Don't QD between washes.

Jdm- i am guessing but i recall 3m hide imperfections, so once you detailed then washed it, it removed the glaze....it could be you didnt work the product right or thats it nature...either way 3m is old school but still used and well know no doubt but i perfer other product, you came to the right spot and now get your list ready to order from Ag...

also imo i think a wool pad on a red teg is way to aggresive but that my opinion...but hey what do i know

good luck on your quest to a Swirl free paint(its very addicting)

Black is a burden to care for, but there is no other color out there that looks as good freshly polished.

Well i defently worked the product right because just yestarday I polished a Black 2006 Z06 Corvette and perfect results were near perfection. The only product with fillers is the glaze... all glazes have a filler in it (silicone) thats the magic of glazes. as for the wool pad, nuthing is to rough as long as you take the proper steps to work your way down to the final coat of glaze/sealent/wax
