What can be done to undue the problem I have with my window microfiber towels?

I purchased some window microfiber towels. They worked so well I ordered more. The problem is the 2nd time I used them they left, and still do, leave a smear, smudge, on the windows. It actually leaves some of the fuzz from the towels on the window. I have always heard to only wash microfiber towels with microfiber towels, and that is what I did, but I wonder if that rule should also say don't wash window microfiber towels with the microfiber towels you used to take wax off with? That is the only thing I can think of. I don't know what else could have messed them up. I would like your feed back and opinion's! Thank You!

What did you use to wash them? How did you dry them? Do not use any fabric softeners or dryer sheets. I hang dry mine and wash them in woolite. Every third or fourth was I use 1/4 cup of distilled white vinager.

Good question, I washed them with micro-restore and always line dry them I have rewashed them 3 times trying to salvage them, once I put white vinegar in the last rinse. I just hope I haven't ruined 20 microfiber window towels!

I don't think I did, I know I didn't intentionally. The cycle I use for them comes up with warv/cold. Anything is possible. Do you know of anything I can try?

I would suggest you DO wash them in hot water.

Dinky..I ran into sorta the same situation as you...I had 20-30 towels that were used for polish and wax removal..and about 5 glass towels well after washhing them all together and using the glass towel a few days later I noticed streaking,,they never streaked before...I believe that some of the sealants and wax got on them in the wash since they are so silky and close knitted...and no knap to speak of...I then filled a bucket with hot water and APC...1 gallon of water 6 oz of APC....let them sit over nite ..aggitating them once in a while...next day did a hot wash with Tide clear..and air dried...

That seemed to fix the problem...they do not streak now...now I wash them seperately...with no wax towels mixed in.,....that may have been the problem..maybe not..but they work now ....

Just general guidelines:
Hot water will release chemicals from fibers better.
Vinegar helps in the release also.
Whatever soap you use, use the recommended amount or less.
If you use Woolite check to see if its a new formula. There is a lot of debate going on about optical brightners and how they destroy fibers.
If you use dryer...Low setting at 80% of estimated drying time.

Are you talking the new Waffle Weave designed micro's or the standard towel just designated for glass ?? I wash mine all together with no issues, but I only use the WW on glass.
