First you need to clay the car. I recommend using the same brand clay and clay lube. The clay lube will provide more lubrication as opposed to a quick detailer. Using soap and water could dry the clay out.
Next you need your swirl remover/ polish. I recommend using Poorboys SSR1 and or SSR2.5. Or Pinnacle XMT # 1, 2, or 3. I say and or because when using the SSR2.5 or XMT # 2 or 3, you need to go over that with the SSR1 or XMT #1.
After your polish, you can apply a Glaze. Some good glazes are XMT Glaze or Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze.
Last you need a "protection coat." The protection coat is usually Carnauba Wax. Itll give your paint a very nice shiny wet look. However, the longest itll last it two months depending on weather and driving conditions. Some good Carnauba waxes are DP Max Wax, Natty's Paste Wax Blue, or Souveran Paste $$$, or Liquid Souveran.
Instead of the Carnauba wax, you could go with a sealant. However, a lot of sealants wont bond well when applied over a glaze. They also wont give you the same shine as Carnauba, but itll last a lot longer.
