Favorite car product thus far!

What up everybody? I am a newbie and I just had to share the experience I had yesterday when doing my first ever car detail. I used all XMT products for the polish and finished with liquid souvren. The car came out great! All swirl marks were gone, and only the deeper scratches remain but you can hardly notice them (silver paint). When I moved the car outside I was able to see all of the tiny flakes in the paint sparkling in the sunlight!

I guess due to me being a beginner, it took me all day to finish the exterior! I started at 6am and didn't finish till 5pm, is that long to you pros?

Well the reason why I wrote this is to tell you about the best product that I have used (in my short experience). In my opinion, the start of any car detail is actually washing the vehicle. I have been washing cars for most of my life (I'm 39) and have been using the ol bucket and soap technique. Even to the point that I purchased the 5gallon complete wash system from this site (good product). I recently bought the Autogeek Foam gun combined with DP ultra foam soap. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!

I am a stickler for trying to get the right combination of soap and water to have enough for the whole car wash. With this product there is no guessing and there always is a ton of suds! This product works excellent! I just keep a bucket full of water to rinse the mitt and go. I was not planning on even washing my wifes car (2000 Yukon) that day due to my plans to detail my car but I loved the foam gun so much that I wanted to use it again and ended up doing my wifes car to!

I love a product that lives up to its billing.
Thanks for listening,
Wesley

Don't worry about how long it takes you to complete your exterior detail. With more experience, you'll be able to gauge what needs to be done and what doesn't need to be done, then adjust your time spent accordingly.

The Foam Gun is a great tool. Once you have depleted your bottle of DP Xtreme foam, I encourage you to try other car wash soaps. I currently am using a mixture of DP Xtreme foam with another product in my foam cannon (pressure washer compatible foam gun). I still use my Wolfgang Foam Gun when the pressure washer is not needed.

foam guns are great, I don't use them all the time but on the really dirty cars I foam away all the badness

Best products, for this month, is FK425, as it adds a great, great shine and anti-dust for 1 1/2 days. Also, FK108 as it worked so well on my wife's Sienna which has a ton of plastic running the full bottom perimeter plus I love it for all the plastic inside the car too.
