Best Combo for Holograms???

Greetings! I have done a little searching on this topic but I'd like to throw it out for discussion/confirmation...

Somehow I managed to get holograms all over my freaking dark blue car. They stand out like a sore thumb. So, I am in need of a good solution for getting rid of these. In the past I have only needed to get rid of a couple minor scratches, so I really don't have much experience with cutting away swirls, nor do I have any product for doing so. Do have PC and all the LC pads, so I am OK there.

I use sealants only on this car, so I need a product or combo that will be sealant friendly... and I want that 'jeweled look' when I am done with the swirl removal and before the LSP. Here are my thoughts...

- WG swirl remover, then WG Finishing Glaze, or
- PB SSR 2.5 & 1.0, or
- XMT #2 & #1, or
- any other product or combo that AG offers

In an earlier posting by Killr he recommended the PB products above for hologram probs.

I used SSR1 with the edge orange pad on my hood. My car is dark blue as well and that combo removed all the swirling I had. It did not however remove some of my hard water spots, so I am waiting for the weekend to roll around before hitting it with SSR2.5 and/or a different pad.

I was really happy with the performance of the orange pad and SSR1 combo. Not sure what LC pad that would be equal to though. Hope that helps you.

SSR2.5 and cutting pad should do the trick, followed by SSR1 and finishing pad.

I just did my car(2003 Explorer) with the Wolfgang products and can't be happier.
Swirl Remover: Orange LC pad
Finishing Glaze: White LC pad
Sealant: By hand, 2 coats with cure time between.

I started using a white pad with the swirl remover but after checking my work I bumped up to the orange.

What impressed me was the ease of use for all the Wolfgang products, easy on & off. This was my first car I did using a PC and was nervous about srewing up, but it was easy to use and really saved time. If you are more experienced I am sure you'll get even better results then me.

you can use any combo of products, using the finishing polish last with a finishing pad. Just remember if it contains oils/fillers (most do) then a quick rewash or wipe down with alcohol prior to your sealant is quick and easy.

Should I have rewashed my hood after removing the SSR1? I went straight from that to the wolfgang sealant. It cured for maybe 10hrs before it rained non stop... sure could tell a difference between the sealant and the aging (2 weeks?) NXT on the car.

If you see your durability drop off quickly, then experiment next time. Some are reporting that Wolfgang seems to adhere well to polishes and glazes alike. Maybe it has some silicone makeup ??

I'd rather not experiment as I don't have as much time available as I use to, so, to be on the safe side (considering WG sealant will be the LSP) it would not hurt to do an alcohol wipe down or wash after the swirl removers/finishing glaze and before the WG.

With all do respect why would you want to do a IPA wipe down after applying a glaze .You can top your glaze with a LSP especially if you have WG's glaze & Sealant..

I think he might mean after an abrasive polish, not talkign pure glazes here.
