Dirty Wheels

I see a lot of crap like this on peoples wheels when they never clean them. On these wheels I used Black Magic wheel cleaner first. I just use that stuff to get the easy dirt off. Then I usually scrub the wheels with soap and water when Im done washing the car. In this case it was Meguiars Gold Glass wash. That usually gets the wheels clean (at least on my car). That didnt really do much, so I tried some Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover. That didnt really do much either. So after all that stuff I sprayed some Amazing Roll Off on the wheels. I let that sit for about a minute then scrubed the wheels with a spunge. That did a pretty good job and got the wheels looking a lot better then when I started. But theres still some left on there. What else can I do to get it off? I didnt try a clay bar.

Amazing roll off is pretty strong already, so I would either do another application of amazing roll off, or clay them. Use a small piece of clay, lubricate wheels well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. It says to leave it for 1-3 min. So maybe I should let it sit a little longer too.

Poorboys Spray and Rinse .... I have found no faster and stronger wheel cleaner made to date that isnt hydrocloric acid or lye. Just follow the directions, and make sure wheels are never uncoated aluminum.

you'll know ... high polished uncoated aluminum is mostly used in specialty and racing wheels. If you see HRE, Iforged and other names on the wheels, ask or be safe. Most every wheel offered a stock wheels from the manufacturer (Chevy, Toyota) are clearcoated to keep the wheels looking better for longer.

The Poorboys rocks ... it truly does what it says. You must have cool wheels, you must wet the wheels first, you must spray liberally, and you must wait for 3-4 minutes and wash off with high stream of water. You wont need to use it every week, but will amaze you at what it removes in the barrels behind the wheels also.

I know you just said "it truly does what it says" but is it really no scrubbing, at all?

Looks like my next order might be some Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo, Foam Gun, and Poorboy’s Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner.

Pinnacle Bodywork shampoo is one of the best there is. I even like it more then Zymol Clear, which is way overpriced.....

It is truly the only product to date that was actually no scrubing. I even converted a forum heckler over on the Vetteforum. He still tries to knock it as to harsh (and again I dont offer that you used it weekly) but great for monthly cleanups when used exactly as directed.
