I got my stuff/ couple questions

Ok so i got:

XMT light swirl remover kit
Porter cable 7424
UPGP
XMT pad conditioner and cleaner
KAIO
PB black hole glaze

I have couple questions:

Is your 7424 noisy too ?
Does it make huge vibration on 6 ? Like its hard to keep in ur hands.

Whats the white small pad that came with porter cable ?

Thanks

Shiping was very fast, Everything came in great shape// i am extremely happy

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

Yes, the 7424 can be considered "noisy" - as in hard to hear over when it's running.

Yes, it will have some vibrations, especially on higher speeds but shouldn't be difficult to hold onto. Check and make sure that the pad is properly centered. Oh, and vibrations will be worse if you're running off of the paint.

The white pad is the polishing pad included by Porter Cable... I've never used mine.

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

Thanks

Can i use the white pad that came with 7424 to recondition my headlights ?

I will use wetsand paper 2000 and 3000 and after that use PlasticX on white polishing pad.

To tell you the truth i am kinda scared to use 7424 :P it seems so powerful like when i touch my hand it burns :P

I need to practice on some crappy vehicles first.

And why does it say on countrweight.

"Use 5 inch pads only" ?

THanks

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

The 7424 comes with the 5" counter weight... some have reported experiencing less vibrations and more spinning (of the pad) after purchasing the 6" counterweight, others have reported no significant difference. It's absolutely ok to use the 6.5" pads with the 5" weight.

Can you use the white pad on the headlights??? Sure, you can try, it won't hurt anything but I can't speak from experience regarind how well it work.

Scared of the PC... yep, almost everyone is at first, I know I was, but the truth is, there's no reason to be, just use the smallest amount of common sense and you'll be fine. Seriously, when you read these forums and haven't tried it yet, you hear people talking about this polish or pad being "agressive" and it sounds really scary. You'll find out that using the pc to remove swirls, while doable and rewarding takes quite a bit of time... which is good, because it would take that much longer to do real damage.

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

Unless you have small, child sized hands, you'll be fine.
Heck, it comes with a handle. You could two-hand it if you wanted to learn that way, then move on two one-handed when you're comfortable. It does shake like an off balanced washing machine when cranked up to high speeds but anything that small, moving that fast in those directions would have to shake a little. You'll be ok.

I have several white pads that I've never used, along with the bonnets that come with them.

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

you could always go to the nearest local body shop and ask for a finder or hood and practice at home. thats how i learned with no fear of damaging it. plus i learned what works and doesn't.

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

Oh and also with the xmt kit.

they include Polish ‘N Wax Applicator with orange and gray side.

My
Polish ‘N Wax Applicator came with YELLOW and gray side.

I wonder if yellow is not to aggressive so that it leaves scratches.

Re: I got my stuff/ couple questions

Thanks for the video.

I can see that its really hard to do any damage since the product itself takes quiet long time break down.

I wanna do my car tomorrow but i am a little concerned about timing and weather.

How long should it take to :

Wash
clay
wash
KAIO Gray pad
XMT #2 + orange pad
XMT #1 + white pad
PB Glaze + gray pad
UPGP

?

Also it supposed to rain lately tomorrow. So i dont know if sealant will be fine with it ?

Because it should cure for ~12 hours or something like it.

Thanks for help.
