Question Squarepants Cleaning....

What's the true advantage to using a sea-sponge, and why are they always correlated with foam guns?

Is this sponge Giant Sea Sponge 'truly' the best in the world?

Re: Squarepants Cleaning....

HAAAA! True... I was watching some of the videos offered by Pinnacle on washing, and I was like - high tech buffers, fancy micro fibers, and A SPONGE!?!?!

Any other opinions??

Re: Squarepants Cleaning....

a super thick MF towel works well in a pinch for washing. The high nap pulls dirt away from finish. The new Shmitt is interesting for washing, and shaped like a polishing foam head.

Re: Squarepants Cleaning....

iv heard to rinse the sea sponge out before useing because theres been cases where theres still sand and small pieces of shells still left inside and end up scratching peoples cars.

and you usually see by the maker "we try to get the sand out, but be sure to rinse it off in case some is still left" or something to that effect.

Re: Squarepants Cleaning....

Hmmm, perhaps I should stick with the Schmitt (sp?) after hearing the varying opinion - but I would assume if washed out very well, a sponge would be optimal to loosed and absord dirt/particles. Thanks for all the feedback...

Re: Squarepants Cleaning....

I am a Sea Sponge user and have a black car. I would stand behind the sponge and say I have never had a problem with sand or any creatures that took up home in my sponge. One thing is for sure, they last a long time. I have had the same sponge for a couple of years. I use it in conjunction with my boars hair brush.
