Can't KAIO be used as the swirl remover? I was thinking of just getting the Klasse AIO and Klasse sealant instead of that and wolfgang swirl remover and glaze 3.0. Trying to save some money here. Potentially saving me $50.

I have various vehicles with all types of paint damage, I'm still a noob
no KAIO is a paint cleaner.it could possibly mask swirls.if u want to do paint correction you are going to need swirlremover & polish.if you wax your car monthly u shouldnt just wash it then wax it.the paint needs prepped some how.u can either use paint cleaners like KAIO or Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion or if you have swirls and marring you would use a swirlremover/polish combo.if you wash ur car the safe way you should only have to use swirlremover/polish maybe 1-2 times a year.any other time a paint cleaner should be a good prep before ur LSP

And we put a kit together.

XMT Light Swirl Remover Complete Kit by Pinnacle: For your dual action or rotary polisher.

+

Porter Cable 7424 Car Buffer, 7424 Polisher

+

Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate 6"

(Isnt that to big for the pads in the kit ?)

+

Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845

(Is this a good product for Dark Gray Audi ?)

Am i missing something guys ?

Hey almost there

Thanks

From what you were saying I think this is still the best order for you -- Light swirl remover (that gets results and is easy to use), pads, machine and BP (6.5" pads require 6" Backing plate), glaze, long lasting wax. Just the polishing alone will bring back the shine to your Audi and the Collinite #845 will add to it and last for a few months. All that's left out from your order is the Klasse AIO. You can still search around and research more, but from the sounds of things this order will be best for you ...

If you go this route:
Wash
Clay (wipe off residue w/ QD or lube and MF towel)
XMT2 (orange pad)
XMT1 (white pad)
XMT glaze (1st gray pad)
Collinite 845 (2nd gray pad)

KAIO on windows and wheels by hand

All of the above plus 10 oz ok KAIO will be $263.96 before any discounts. IMO that is the cheapest way to get your Audi to look its best. Adding different products will increase your order amount but the results aren't going to be much different ....

Re: New ORDER :)

Yea i like this kit.

From what i read its easy to use and gives good effects.

The only concern i have is the collinite iam not really conviced about it.

Can i use KAIO after claybar and wash ? before polishing ?

I am also getting XMT pad conditioner.

The only thing i really need now is some wax collinite or liquid souveran or something diff ?

My car is dark gray.

Oh and can i use KAIO on wheels ? And what can i expect after applying KAIO do wheels and windows ?

Thanks

I am getting there :P

Re: New ORDER :)

I'm not sure why your not convinced about Collinite, it looks nice and is the longest lasting wax. As I said the other night Meguiar's #26 won't last as long but it'll look great and darken the paint. Both will be compatible with the XMT carnauba glaze. Liquid Souveran would also be an OK choice but it generally looks better on lighter vehicles.

The Klasse can be used after claying and before polishing but is not an absolutely necessary step. It'll remove any existing wax on the paint but many agree that the polishing will do the same. Using KAIO or a paint cleaner before polishing is typically when you are dealing with oxidized paint. It's a good idea to remove the dead paint from the surface before polishing, so the polish can be worked properly. The KAIO on the wheels will clean them and leave some protection behind. On the windows, there will be protection and should keep windows cleaner, longer.

Re: New ORDER :)

I would suggest Poorboys Black Hole for a glaze, adds alot of depth and wetness, and also fills alot...

well its hard to tell someone what product to buy because everyone has there own opinions.the kit that budman3 recomended basically gives everything u need.now depending on what u like different products can be substituted in.the majority of your shine and wetness will depend on ur prep work.there will be subtle differences between certain waxes and sealants.
common waxes that iv seen used, P21S 100%, Souveran(both paste and liquid), Pinnacle Signature Series 2(SSII), Poorboys natty blue paste, and DP max wax.
if u want durability ull see alot of, wolfgang deepgloss sealant, poorboys EX-P, optimum opti-seal,collinite 845, duragloss TPP 105,and Klasse high Gloss Sealant(KSG).
Now thats what i usually see but there can be more.its just personal preference really.

Re: New ORDER :)

I am starting to have some concerns regarding xmt.

Cause all i read about audi clear coat is that its very hard.

I am gonna post some pictures of swirls later so you guys can see what i am going to be dealing with.

Idk if XMT #2 and 1 will do the job. I dont wanna order something that will not help.

Re: New ORDER :)

do some research on Menz SIP & 106.there supposed to be used on harder clear coats.if what ever u use doesnt get everything out what u want just make another pass.sometimes depending on what the situation is the imperfection doesnt come out right away.
