Mercedes Detail Tomorrow

So i'm gonna be doing a C230 tomorrow with mild swirls and was planning on using XMT 3 to make sure i get the swirls out. However, i wanted to know whether XMT 360 would be sufficient enough to follow the XMT 3 to clear up any marring if there is any. I'm just trying to save time as i have another detail directly after, and was thinking with not having to wipe off 360 it would be quicker. If you guys suggest that XMT 1 will be better, please let me know. I'm open for ideas.

Thanks

Alot would be dependent on what pad you use with the xmt 3.

Re: Mercedes Detail Tomorrow

What model year is the car? More recently made M-B cars are painted with cerami-clear which is much harder than a traditional clear coat.

It's an 07 model, so i might have some problem with the clear huh? I'm planning on using the orange pad with the XMT3.

In my experience, no. But there are a lot of variables to consider. XMT 360 fills so much I dont use it at all.

Re: Mercedes Detail Tomorrow

So do you think it fills soo much that it actually creates a false result (thus leading one to believe the swirls are gone)? Might just follow it up with the XMT 1 then.

Re: Mercedes Detail Tomorrow

Since the car has a hard clear coat, then you might be able to get away with just that one step. Just remember that rubbing alcohol is your friend (well, before an LSP anyway). Just wipe it over the surface to see your "True" progress. Good luck.
