I forget...

I know clay first (after washing of course), but if I am going to polish with PC, is a paint cleaner needed like p21S cleaner, or does the polish clean it up since its removing a wee bit of the clearcoat?

correct, if your using an abrasive, a chemical cleaner isnt necessary. the abrasives will clean off any contaminants on the paint anyways.

I have heard you can just skip paint cleaner if you are going to just polish. If you are worried about the clear, just AIO. Great paint cleaner.

LOL, I don't have any first hand experience that screwed me over, but always want to do the least amount of abrasions that is needed to get the job done. Good thing you are smart.
