Turtle wax hard shell
Hey all, iv'e been looking at the turtle wax hard shell wax for a while now and cannot decide weather to give it a try. It says it lasts up to 12 months but that sounds too good to be true. It also comes with an applicator pad. Any opinions or comments about this product would be greatly appreciated and the question is, is it a good product? cheers all

No it's not good.... If ur wanting something OTC/store bought go with either Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax OR if ur wanting turtle wax then get their ICE synthetic wax.... The hard shell stuff is garbage and not worth the trouble

Ok so maybe i should avoid it haha. Meguiars liquid wax is a little bit out my price range at the moment but do u think it would be best to just wait and buy the meguiars?

•IMO:
-Your vehicle needs protected by an LSP
-So...use the Wax you've already got,
or can best afford.
-No need to be/become a "wax snob"!
•Remember:
-Just as you'd do with any other car Wax:
All you got to do is follow Hard Shell's
application directions...You'll be pleasantly
surprised with the results.

It does the job.
Super Hard Shell is a "cleaner wax", which is great if you haven't polished your car. You don't want to lay down a premium, pure wax type product over "dirty" paint.
SHS can be difficult to remove, but does hold up well.
Meguiar's Cleaner Wax in the maroon bottle is at a similar price point, and is a very user friendly product.
You could make it really simple with a wash / clay / cleaner Wax process to get started.
Meguiar's also offers the Smooth Surface Clay Kit, and a Quick Detailer. Combined with the cleaner wax, it's a nice system to get started on for the most basic of paint care.

Re: Turtle wax hard shell
if you want something otc that will clean the paint (will only be aggressive by means of application) and add some protection, megs white wax (can be used on any color car) would be a great choice. top that with ultimate quik wax and you'll have an excellent combo...
Meguiars White Wax, wax for white cars, wax for white paint
Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax, spray wax, synthetic spray wax, quick wax, meguiars quick spray wax, paint protectant, liquid wax, meguires, meguiars car

Re: Turtle wax hard shell
If the turtle cleaner wax is the only thing available in your price range and you don't want to wait to save some more money, I'd go ahead and use it. Have fun and enjoy the results! For just a little more money, as someone else already mentioned, the Meguires cleaner wax in the maroon bottle might be great for you. It might just be a couple dollars more.
There are better products out there for not much more money. But all of us have a budget! Do what works for you and enjoy the process. If it's a brand new paint job, I'd recommend waiting until you can afford something a little better.
You might also enjoy Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax. I think it's about $8.
