Winter car care!!! What are you going to be doing?

Doing the same thing this year as I did last year.........almost been 1 year to the date......just got back from wally world in the pouring rain and Mrs07's DD is still beading very well.

My usual cocktail of DG 501/601, 105/601, 111/601.

May even hold off till it doesn't bead or sheet at all........hmmmmm to continue the testing or not.

I'm going to have to bite the 845 bullet and get this wax.

Under $20 for a bottle can't go wrong, I've wasted so much money on sealants and waxes. I'm glad I tried it,it's all I will use.

This is my first winter in TN from Ft Lauderdale, and I keep hearing good things about this being a great winter wax.

Yeah 845 is it. Don't waste money on others. Its fun to try others but its money wasted. Go to target and get a small travel pump sprayer. Fill that will 845 and you'll have the perfect amount on your applicator. Over use of this SUCKS, to apply with care

Waiting for BF or CM for a better deal on Plasti Dip for a couple of sets of steel winter rims. Wife's are 12 winters old and have been lacquered and cleared once by me about five years ago, they are due for some love. The rims I'm on now are going into their fourth winter and the silver powder coat is lifting in a couple of spots and there's some rust staining. A quick sandblast, POR-15 wash and Metal Prep, a touch of POR-15 on the bare metal areas followed by a few coats of Plasti and the wheels should look good for five more winters.

I have 21 and 845. I like the consistency of #21. The thickness of it makes it easy to apply. I haven't waited long enough to see which out performs the other. I like waxing every 2 to 3 months

I used Griot's one step sealant, for a change.
Otherwise for winter I usually rinse weekly or twice a week at the DIY car wash, just to blast the salt off, with a special concentration on the undercarriage and door jambs. I also spray the door jambs and door drains with silicone spray to make them easier to clean out. If there's a dry spell, I'll do a two bucket wash at the DIY wash.

I used to just coin-op rinse it, washing on warmer days. No way I'll bother if its 5* F with 2 feet of snow on the ground though.


This is my first winter with ONR, so I'm hoping to use that and the coin-op. I guess I'll be experiencing first hand how fast warm ONR freezes, lol.

I'm banking on Sonax PNS topped with 845 to make my washes easy.

My "Winter car care" has changed dramatically since I moved from NE Ohio to South Carolina in September. It's going to be 70 degrees today so I think I'll do a waterless wash and wait for my Cyber Buster products to arrive so I can try some new products. There's a lot of things I miss but not the%%$## snow and salt!
