    Polish/sealant/wax - Order of application?

My usual order of product application for my daily driver is as follows:
Clay/Duragloss 501/Collinite 845 in the spring and fall. Seems to work well for me. I was impressed when doing some over-spray removal by Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Polish and the depth of color it seemed to add to my 10 year old finish.
If I wanted to add this into my routine would I Clay/Compound/Polish/501/845? Would the 501 cancel the polish by removing the oils? Basically, does a polish cancel a sealant and vice versa or do they compliment each other? Should I use Duragloss 105TPP instead of the 501?

Sorry for all the questions. Just can't get this straight in my mind. In Eastern Canada, there is not much to choose from for product as shipping costs are high. Love the forum and read it daily. Thanks for the help.

Order is good but certain polishes, especially meguiars have lots of oils. A strong wash or IPA wipedown would be beneficial before you apply 501 even though it has cleaners. Or you could just skip to 845 as it isn't impacted much by oils.

I think most of the appearance benefit you got from UC/UP was from the abrasives and not the oils. Hopefully the compound would be a one-time or not-so-often usage and after the first time you would just have to use the Ultimate Polish (although it sounds like you are working by hand so using the UC every time isn't going to be too aggressive but it will sure be a lot of extra work).

I have to disagree with Yakky a bit, in that although the IPA wipe after UP and before 501 won't hurt, I don't really think it's necessary.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here about "cancel", but a polish will remove a sealant.

The order of products is correct as you wrote them in the subject line of this thread.
