    Re: The Hernandez Polisher

Anybody have any ideas on how to cut these down? Those were cut with scissors btw and I tried using an xacto knife and a drill punch, but the scissors worked the best and still did a inaccurate job.

The cutting the foam is beyond my brain capacity!! I am still trying to know the extension mod that is why I PM'd you!!!.....LOL BTW, it works for the PC 7424 XP too. Same threads and nuts and bolts. Thank you for showing me this!! I am looking into the B&S Backing Plate with the 3 inch chuck.Part # BUF-300Y. I will adapt this to the XP. Again, Art thank you for your help! Sorry I can't help you with the Pads.

    Hey Art
Make a hole punch.........2 inch piece of pipe(like exhaust tubing) about 8 inches long, use a dremel tool and sharpen one end. Lay your pad down on a piece of wood.....(cover the wood with paper or something not to contaminate the pad) and then hit with a big hammer! BAMM! instant hole punch.

How about using a hole saw kit. It is used for making holes for door knobs on brand new doors. You would have to find one with very fine teeth as not grab and tear the pad

    Re: The Hernandez Polisher

    1) Hole saw idea is pretty cool idea (credit to atgonzales)
    2) The punch idea suggested by Tim sounds very plausible as a solution
    3) Hot Knife Foam Cutter (may not work well with the velcro but would leave a nicely cut foam
    4) Electric knife?? which I used a couple of types to customize Pelican cases for my assault riffles Again may not do so well with the velcro

Get a piece of 2" inner diameter pipe cut it to around 8" long or so, then carefully bevel one end of the pipe to a very sharp bevel.

Now you can place the sharp end of the pipe on the pad and wack the other end with a mini sledge and "whammo", instant 2" pads.

You'll have to maintain the sharpness of the beveled edge from time to time though.
