determing what type of wheels are on a car
i was wondering if there is a good way to tell exactly what type of wheel that would be on a car. for example if a car had clear coated wheels and i thought they were uncoated, and i cleaned them as being uncoated i would problably ruin the clearcoat. so is there say for example some kind of code stamped on the front or back of the wheels that would tell me, or maybe a website that would tell me?
Thanks.
Dave.

Uncoated (to test apply a mild polish, if the applicator turns black (a chemical reaction between nickel and the polish) there is no clear coat or paint finish. Most but not all OME wheels are protected with a clear coat
