Talking Milk & Vinegar Spill

Got a call yesterday....... Spilled 1/3-1/2 gallon of milk in a 2007 Honda Odessy Van.....
Been sitting since Saturday, now it's Wednesday. Temps above 95* outside Hotter in a closed up vehicle...

Anyways, she asked if I could get the smell out... Of course I can!
I ran by to look at it yesterday evening. Opened the door and gagged....
She said she was told to clean it up with vinegar, so along with spoiled milk, there was a nice addition of vinegar odor......
Ouch....

Time for one of my famous, "strip the interior out jobs" that a lot of you know me for...lol
Came to the conclusion that the seats would have to be removed, as well as the carpet and padding, from behind the front seats, all the way back..

Process:
Pulled Seats
pulled carpet and plastic pieces on floor
Separated padding from carpet
Treated the floor pan and floor vents
replaced padding (new)
Extracted carpet (x2) top side and underside
installed carpet and plastic pieces
installed seats
quick vac on interior
extract mats and put in
odor terminator misted on carpets and seats

no pics. I had my camera, but after I got half way of re installing everything, I remembered I should have taken pics.... Too late.....

No more smell of milk or vinegar......

I love jobs like this, not the smell though. I can make more $ in less time than a full detail.....

she said she called another detailer, and they were going to treat the carpet only. You know, half ass clean it with a bottle of whatever and some rags...lol

I told her that it is most likely IN the padding, and the only way to rid the smell for good was to do what I did. You could clean the carpets all day long, but at the end of the day, it'll still stink
