Send some of that rain up here to us in Birmingham, AL.

We are on water restriction so I've been using PB & SW to keep my car clean. Had even thought about washing my cars at night to avoid a ticket but for the most part the cars are clean, but I'm running out of product.

I guess I'll have to pull out the #921 next.

As for sheeting, I never said anything of sheeting. Small tiny uniform beads at first rain. Gloss is still apparent next morning, but slickness is gone. Coming from someone quite critical of Megs in general, I think its a honest assessment. Im not the one pumping Duragloss over all others, so lets try and stay real.

Quikshine looks similar, beads similar, falls off as quickly, and is not a slick initially. Thats just how I see it and I love Quikshine also.

I have a TON of family in Birmingham area. Ever heard of Rock Mountain Lakes, near Bessemer? My uncle pretty much built that. His name is Bud Coleman and he used to own Video Xpress, a movie rental chain in Alabama, up until about 5 years ago or so.....sold to Blockbuster and made a BUNDLE

I am not here to offend you, nor others, just to offer my advice being that I use and test most that AG has to offer, and many other lines. I too am surprised at Megs offering initially, although after second rain tonight feel it is dropping off quickly just like my findings on AW after two bottles and multiple uses. I am not trying to change your opinion on Duragloss, and unfortunately you cannot change mine.

As long as the "pumping" is good stuff, i cant see the problem.

Many pumped the pinnacle LS and CM on me. i Love it
Many pumped the DG 101, 105 and AW on me. i Love it
Many pumped the Guzzler on me. I Love it
Many pumped the ShMitt on me. i Love it
No one Pumped the Flitz polish ball on me. i hate it

We all have (pump) our favorits here at AG, were all quallity testers. Thats what keeps AG on their toes, thats why AG will be better and better in future, because bad products falls through, the good ones lives (until a even better product arrives, and get pumped

Some of the best products I've learned about came from this forum.
Didn't know anything about Duragloss until members talk about it on AGOL. I'm thankful they did!

Couple things

1. Comparing these two products is like comparing apples to oranges. They aren't the same type of product and aren't meant to be used in the same capacity. One is a wax/sealant while the other is simply a juiced up QD.

2. Maximum polymer protection w/UQD is achived after 12 hrs curing time

3. The sheeting action in the Megs video did not happen when they sprayed the panel w/water simulating rain drops, the sheeting action occured when they let the water pour out of the hose freely. There is quite a difference between rain drops and water gushing out of a hose freely. If you look at the video, when the panel was wet via free flowing water from the hose, it sheeted, when the sprayed the panel the water beaded up.

4. The sheeting action/beading of a quality spray wax/sealant like DG 951 IS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN A QD, but seeing as how a layer of uncured UQD looks incredibly similar to that of a fully cured layer of AW leads me to believe that UQD is the real deal and holds it's own against one of the best spray waxes/sealants on the planet.

AL
The problem then is not what the product can or can't do, it's the circumstances under which you expect it to do WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO. Your expectations are unrealistic and there's no video showing that this product is supposed to sheet water when rained on, either real or simulated via spraying w/hose.

If you want an outcome like the video, you should simulate the conditions as in the video. Comparing free flowing water from a hose over a small panel is nowhere near the same as a hood being rained on. But watch the video and see what happens when they spray the panel vs. letting the water flow freely. What you're doing is the same as me watering my hood w/free flowing water from a hose and complaining that this crap doesn't bead up like it shows in the video.

Just one persons opinion but after watching "the video" I expected water to sheet off in any condition. We all know what flooding paint will do and the video was definitly shot to portray a sheeting beyond what any had seen. I feel that my expectations are very realistic. I'm just sorry that I touted the product to the degree that I did from watching a video.

you cannot blame yourself ... the product , like many others, was changed or modified prior to release. This obviously is a different outcome than the video as nobody has seen any sheeting from Megs.
