m205 white pad

Hey there guys. The very first time i ever did a full job on my car i used m205 on a yellow megs pad, now i dont think i did a good job my first time now after everything i've learned. I ordered a bunch of lc pads, some bf all finish paint protection, and ivory wax. Since i didn't need heavy correction i just used m205 on a white lc pad with my pc and that took care of it in 3 passes. The car is a 2013 mustang in black so i did the whole hood (this is all after washing of course) then followed with bf all finish paint protection and then the ivory paste wax. The look is stunning. I will do the whole car with this process, but my question is since this is the second time i have used m205 to polish the car, am i removing too much clear too fast? I know m205 doesn't have much cut, but still just put my worries to rest. Thanks guys Very happy about the outcome.

m205 with a white pad via pc in 3 passes will barely remove .05-1 micron of cc. Your good to polish more.

depending on how soft or hard the paint is, along with technique etc etc its hard to give an exact estimate of paint being removed; however, m205 is pretty mild.

I know it does remove some, but very little. Was just curious. Really cannot believe how amazing the black looks.

I had the same concern when I first started and Mike Phillips actually chimed in and assured me that this is a very gentle approach and really doesn't provide that much cut, so long as you're using proper technique.

If you're very concerned you could use a finishing pad instead of a polishing pad in another test spot (maybe side-by-side) to see if you can see a difference. If not, might as well go with least-aggressive method.

You really can't tell how much paint you're removing without measuring it.

205 had very little cut to it, I can't tell you how many times i did my car, could polish it every weekend and wouldn't have any issues, pretty mild stuff.
I use a white pad, less aggressive.
UP almost has no cut to it if your worried about remove paint and with good results.

You should still have plenty of clear unless someone has really given that thing hell before you bought it. If you wash it properly, you will rarely have to polish it
