| Questions with my NEW products and detailing!
So now that i have all of my new stuff to begin detailing, i have a few questions about the products and the process in which i should be doing things...I'm only asking b/c i was taught one way at work and since joining AG, i have learned that some of those things are not correct (i.e. opperating the buffer at 2200rmp)
1.I dont have a glaze just yet (will be ordering ClearKote to make Pink Moose)...but for the time being i wont have any glaze...so my question is, can i stop at XMT 1 and then apply a wax or after using XMT 1 should i go over with 360, and then wax? (i need to just order the clear kote stuff haha)
2.SSII Wax - what is the curring time for this wax b4 applying a second coat? also is a second coat ness? and how about when you apply this wax, can i apply to the entire car and then take off, wax a panel and then take off, how long is it suppost to stay on the paint b4 taking off?
3.Cleaning pads and microfibers - in my oder i received the XMT pad cleaner and the Pinn Micro Rejuvenator MicroFiber Detergent...so which do i use? when cleaning can i wash everything together? meaning my wash mitt, mf, guzzler, and pads...can all of these things be washed together?
4.PC use...i've watched the videos and u just have some questions about the pressure to be put on the machine while in use...how do you know when it is needed and when it isn't? does it go along with the compound or polish is which i am using? Also, what about taping the car off...the plastic stripping and such?
5. Interior (carpet and leather) i bought the aoi megs...now at work we use green and water mixed in a bucket along with a scotch pad (white - light and gray - heavier) we dip the pads in the bucket and slightly ring out the pads and then apply to the seats (leather mainly) this process is done for the entire interior...now this can leave alot of water on the seats and an air hose is generally used to blow out any remaining water...but something tells me that this isn't right so im asking everyone at AG, what is the proper way to clean the leather and cloth and such? Alos, my car (honda civic si 07) has a type of seude material in the seats, mesh style in the seats, and then a combination of cheap plastic and vinyle on the doors and dash...how should i go about cleaning my car and my seats? also, when my door panels get hit by a shoe or something, i get a white scuff...what can i do to get rid of the white scuffs, without leaving a glossie black shine (i want the natural look not a glossie look)...
haha i guess this is all for now...im sure i will come up with more...
thanks everyone!

1-Do whatever you think looks best. One person may like the look of one way, while you might like it another. The idea with detailing is to experiment to find what suits you.
2-I don't know about the curing time for SSII, but you can put as many layers on as you want normally. Just like the answer above, some people like have one layer, some two, some more. I think most of us do two layers because that ensures that you gave the car proper coverage in case you missed spots the first time.
3-You should wash the pads separate from the towels, hence the two cleaners. One is for the pads, the other for the mf towels.
4-PC pressure is going to be a tricky one. I'm still wrestling with it myself. Generally you want some pressure, but how much will depend on what polish you are using, as well as what kind of paint is on the car since some have soft clear, while others are very hard. Again, you have to figure out what works with the products you have and what the vehicle is.
5-Not sure about the suede type material, but I would use the Megs mixed with water and a mf towel to clean everything else, and then use something like 303 to protect it all. You'll probably want to get a suede specific cleaner for those parts of the seats.

(i need to just order the clear kote stuff haha) You can use XMT 360 or XMT 1. I prefer 360 as it does everything in one easy step.
2.SSII Wax - what is the curring time for this wax b4 applying a second coat? also is a second coat ness? and how about when you apply this wax, can i apply to the entire car and then take off, wax a panel and then take off, how long is it suppost to stay on the paint b4 taking off? I'd wait about 1 hour before applying a second coat. 2 coats will be enough.
I never washed pads in machine, I always wash them by hand. I presoak them in a bucket with DP polishing pad rejuvenator for 15-20 minutes first. Very easy.
4.PC use...i've watched the videos and u just have some questions about the pressure to be put on the machine while in use...how do you know when it is needed and when it isn't? does it go along with the compound or polish is which i am using? Also, what about taping the car off...the plastic stripping and such? As far as pressure - moderate pressure 7-8 pounds. I usually don't tape a car off, it takes forever to do it.
I think Leather Master makes a cleaner/conditioner for uncoated leather. Not sure if you can use Connolly Hide Food on it (possibly, but not sure).

If XMT 1 will prep the paint the way you want it, then stop and wax. If not, move up to XMT 360.
2.SSII Wax - what is the curring time for this wax b4 applying a second coat? also is a second coat ness? and how about when you apply this wax, can i apply to the entire car and then take off, wax a panel and then take off, how long is it suppost to stay on the paint b4 taking off?
SSII is a wowo, do one panel at a time and buff with mf. Two coats should give you good coverage.
Washing your mitt and guzzler wont matter too much, but don't mix your pads and mf together. Wash the pads and mf separtately.
4.PC use...i've watched the videos and u just have some questions about the pressure to be put on the machine while in use...how do you know when it is needed and when it isn't? does it go along with the compound or polish is which i am using? I agree with supercharged.

Don't have much experience in this area, maybe someone else will chime in.
