ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Water Beading due to Collinite 915 topped by 2 Layers of Collinite 845!! (Sealed CG V7 Hybrid)

I just uploaded pics of my recent detailing job which I completed (trashed car was last washed about 2 years ago).

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...many-pics.html

Anyways, it just started pouring rain outside and I quickly snapped a few pictures. This is the first time I see beading like this

    Ditto!

I'm a recent new user of Collinite #845 and I'm VERY impressed with it, can't wait to try their other 2 waxes down the road!

Weird. Something doesn't seem right. On a perfectly flat, level surface the water drops can combine into bigger drops over time. Or there are probably chemicals you can put in the water (or are already in the water) to cause the drops to combine. But this trunk lid is sloped and it's very weird the water doesn't run off. I wonder if the whole car did this. Did they start out small then combined over time? I notice there's a film of something floating on the top of the beads in the lower pic.

Here's what Einszett has to say about bead size:

"The best way to determine whether your paint finish needs wax or not is to look at the water beads on the paint finish washing your car or after it rains. If the water beads are larger than the size of a nickel or larger, it's time to wax. Water beads should be tight and uniform and the water should not sheet off."

    from pg 3 of http://www.1z-usa.com/assets/KIC/Kee...an-Car-Wax.pdf

Since the OP just waxed, not sure what's going on. Some chemical residue combined with the water, is my guess.
