I don't know why I waited so long (first wax!) long

So my cars have always had sealant on them. I've never used wax on any of my cars and had no intention of ever using wax either! I think it's from helping my dad buff wax off his car when I was younger..... it was tedious and back breaking and like buffing off cement. I have a really bad back/SI so for the past several years I've let my husband do the polish work and kept my work to a minimum of spraying on some Zaino Z-CS.

Anyways... I had to get my old original 10+ year PPF redone and had the car detailed at the same time. 2 stage menzerna and a coat of powerlock. Looked so much better than my coats of Z-CS only. It kind of got the bug started in me again. I started back browsing the forums, looking at products etc. Somehow I got started on Chemical Guys and after scouring forums far and wide for reviews I placed an order with AG.

Yesterday I got out the buckets and MF towels and went to work.

CG MaxiSuds II wash. Dried with Blaster Sidekick and WWMF. DSWG2.0 base then CG Blacklight + V7. Looked really good! I have choice of toppers... Pete's 53, 5050, or SN Hybrid. I was actually scared to try any of them.

About 8:00 PM I finally got up the nerve and got the Pete's 53 out. OMG sooooo easy to work with! I could use that stuff all day! Very Zen.

The look? Well... my car has always been extremely shiny and reflective. It has NEVER, however looked this wet and had this much depth and dimension to it. It's just stupid. That's the only thing I can think of to say. I peek out at it in the garage and it makes me giggle. LOL!

It's so very very different from zaino or the powerlock. One big thing I noticed is the Pearl is much more prevalent and while it looks stunning, it did seem to lighten the car compared to what I'm used to. The Pearl in this color has a lot of light flake.... silver somewhat. So with the pearl really highlighted the car has a lighter sheen vs the zaino. I'm not sure how I like that... but I love everything else about the way it looks!

I'll stop rambling now and post photos.

The silvery pearl sheen doesn't really show in photos....

    In the garage:

You can see the Pearl and the silvery sheen in this photo though.

    Outside! Where's the sun????

Little bit of blue sky finally

For comparison... the same shot taken 2 years ago with 3 coats of Z-CS. Different time of day and camera... but you get the idea

and garage comparison... Blacklight + Pete's + V7 on top, 3 coats of Z-CS in bottom pic

And a question for those who have used both Pete's 53 and the 5050 wax, what difference in the look would the 5050 give?

Your car looks stunning! There's definitely a difference between your current process and the zaino one. Thanks for sharing the great story behind it.

    Nice Car!

I like Pete's 53 as well. I use it on top of either Hart Glanz or Collinete 476 and it works beautifully. A nice topper, always looks really wet for weeks afterwards.

Thanks everyone! I'm excited about how it turned out.

Now I don't want to drive it. The chance for rain showers went from 20 to 50% today and tomorrow went from partly sunny with 0% chance to 30% chance of rain. BAH! Weather channel tempts with 10 days of mostly sunny weather and then every night they change the next day to rain.

Dear husband says it's so we hold out hope for sun here in the PacNW lol.
