Menzerna Polishes - Label confusion

Hi, I'm Sean from singapore, and I need some advice.

I recently purchased a DA polisher kit from Australia that came with the following Menzerna polish.

Fast Gloss – FG500
Power Finish – PF2500 (PO85RD3.02)
Final Finish – SF4000 (PO85RE)
(link to the Aus webbie here)

I have found the PF2500 (PO85RD3.02) to be a really good one step product. However I am running low on it and I have been sourcing locally and found two distributors of Menzerna. The different labelling has been a headache for me. One seller gets his goods from the US, and the other from Germany. I also emailed Menzerna for to find out what labels are used and here is their reply:

Quote:
Dear Sir,

PO 85 RD3.02 has not been replaced.

The designation of PO 85RD3.02 in the US is SI 1500, here in Europe PF2300.
PF 2500 is another compound of the Power-Finish-family.

Best regards,
Michael Welker
Locally, I can only find the PF2500 and the US version of SI1500 here in Singapore.
So here is my question: If I purchase the SI1500, will it be the same as the PF2500 (PO85RD3.02) I got from Australia?

Thanks

I've never used or bought Menzerna polishes, but from what you have said and what the Menz. rep told you, I would assume it's the same! Good luck and keep us posted

To Autogeek Online!

Here's a chart that might help you with the numbering..

I'm not familiar with the numbers from the link you posted, sorry..

Re: Menzerna Polishes - Label confusion

Or rather, the question is, will the US version of SI1500 finish as well as the PF2500 (PO85RD3.02) that I have?
This is my current PF2500. Note the hihger level of cut indicated at the bottom.

Re: Menzerna Polishes - Label confusion

PF2500 and SI1500 are 2 different products

PF is 2500 grit
si is 2000

Si finish real nice but PF finishes with my depth and gloss.

It will finish down the same because it is the same. The US version of SI1500 is PO85RD3.02 which is also known as PO83Q. At least that's what I have been told by Menzerna!

Confusing but what is 1500 here is 2500 in a different country to adjust for the different paint systems that are most popular in those specific countries.

I don't think "grit" is the proper word there. Perhaps a typo? The new numbering system is just a guideline to help make the "cut" of the polishes a bit easier to understand. The lower the number in comparison to other Menzerna products, the more aggressive the polish.

I'm more interested in the finishing. Will the SI1500 finish like the current PF2500 that I have now?
