Wonder if I can just order the new padded handle from somewhere and put it on my Gen2 GG polisher?
I would move to China if I could get that blue one...

Re: Griots Made a new 6in DA?!

IIRC, there was some mulling about that there was a change in the motor or speed switch that made it slightly less powerful, and then the name change from Professional Random Orbital to just Random Orbital had people talking. I've never had the two side by side to test, so I can't confirm this. But I could've sworn I read this on one of the major forums.

Re: Griots Made a new 6in DA?!

I think there is also another clone called the Concours 900 DA. It's literally the same but it's blue instead of orange, and it bumps the motor up to 880 watts. Setec Astronomy, you could buy one from Australia if you wanted. It comes with a nice bag, and some Menzerna.

I knew Griot's was coming out with a new DA soon. So many places were clearing stock. Autogeek, Amazon, BJ's etc. They were selling these for cheaper than ever. But that is by no means a reason not to pick this up. This is the same motor as the new one, and both have a lifetime warranty. So if your DA goes bad a year or two from now, Autogeek or Griot's will probably replace it with the new one anyway.

Only if it comes with one of those cute little Koala bears. Besides, Romney says he's going to crack down on China so we're not going to be able to get these anymore.

I like that it will match the 3" as far as the rubber pad but I can't see paying more. I like the newest thing but if the guts are the same then I'd be happy with the old unit at the VIP price.

Too bad I don't need it. I already have a PC and a Flex
