I have the Brinkmann and also tried another one, forgot the brand/type, at our Chicagoland detail day and I will say that mine, that has a halogen type bulb showed a more "real" look compared to the other one that had LED lighting, it really made a difference.

I have the Brinkman, a few LED flashlights and an LED headlamp that I use for correction jobs. Since I am mobile I never know what kind of lighting the client will have in their garage so the headlamp really comes in handy. I got the headlamp off eBay for under $5.00.

I like my Brinkman but it can't find all defects. Different lights show different aspects, much like different car care products have various functions, but all are needed.
