Any tips on using Collonite 915?
I heard a lot of great things about Collonite 915 with respect to its durability, and the deep glow it gives paint. But I also read that it can be tough to work with. Do you have any tips for working with 915?
Thanks!

The key is to go THIN as much as possible....

915 is not like 845 where you have to be very careful. Stick to the basics and you will be fine.... wax in the shade, on a cool to warm panel, spread it evenly and do not let it cake-up on the panel. You will love it.

First time i used it I use a hand application i put it on to thick and it was very humid that time and it was very hard to get off. The next time I used a putty knife (a new 1 in plastic one) on a black pad on my PC and it went on like butter and came off like butter. Very impressive stuff.

Same... I just recently bought some 915 as well. I used a plastic butter knife and just lightly put it on a gray/black LC finishing pad. Went on great, and was easy to buff off.

I did one panel at a time, put it on thin and wiped it off. If I didnt' get it off right away it was a little hard to wipe off, but man does it look good. I live in San Diego, so I can't say how the beading is since it only rains one day in February here.

I use 4" pads on my polisher exclusively when machine waxing. Just rub the can a bit on the pad, then spread it until it's almost gone. I haven't tried 915 yet, but it works great with 476.

Thin is in with any of those heavy waxes like the Collinite pastes, #16, #26, etc.

I hate you. Do you live in the perfect 72° part, or the desert part?

Thank you for your service. Met a nice guy once here in AZ with a nice Dodge truck(reason I even started to talk to him) he was visiting AZ from CA. After we talked, he have me his card, never really looked at it till I got home. He was a navy seal instructor on Coronado island. Great experience.
