The Griots' nozzle is even more expensive.

The former owner of another forum made a pretty effective argument about this some years ago, when Chemical Guys was "discovered" by the forum, and some drew the conclusion that some products of some brands might be relabled bulk products. He pointed out that even if this were so, the seller was adding value through customer service, whether that be a generous return policy, phone support, etc., or in today's world, video tutorials.

just about every company is going to have their fanboys (it can relate to anything from this forum to other discussion forums, etc.) and with that said, use what gives you the desired results, despite the price if you can justify it...

I'm a big fan of their Quick Sealant, SVRT, and their Interior Cleaner. Their APC and Inn & Out spray were OK. Probably won't buy those again.

I have to agree though, they are very strict on THEIR forum but it is theirs and it's their rules.

They do have great daily specials and recently added weekly specials. Sometimes you will find good value in those.

Re: Adam's Polishes an Compounds

This is correct, combined with the demographics for Adam's product line; which are little older guys with Vettes, Mustangs, and Camaros. Adams stuff is promoted heavily at these car shows. Once the bait is set, customers spread the word that the product works and is caveman-easy to use.

Younger guys and those who detail for a living want it all. Good, fast, and economical. We are always looking for latest and greatest. We found that nothing in the Adam's line to be "the best"; maybe the closest would be the debatable Adam's Quick Detailer. To add insult, Adam's prices are astronomical for products that are sub par compared to competing brands.

In over 20 years of detailing, I noticed customer who have used Adam's products would eventually move to different brands. The most loyal customers to Adam's products are Vettes, Mustangs, and Camaro owners that like to stick with what has worked for them. How many years did you use Armor All and Turtle Wax before you knew better?

This is the market where Adams and Meguiars dominates, not the market for professional detailers or fanatic enthusiast.

Adam Pitale and the Junkman were the Billy Maze frontman for the company. To their credit, their marketing efforts were more effective than the product line itself. Marketing and perceived value is simply invaluable.

Re: Adam's Polishes an Compounds

I really like the design of the Adam's Flex 3401 pads. They self center. It's neat. I have always wanted to try Adam's polishes, but always found them to be too expensive. $25 for 16 ounces with no larger economy sizes?? Hmm. No gallons bugs me. It also underscores the fact that they are a boutique product company that caters to the relatively inexperienced person who has finally saved up enough money in their 40s and up to buy a neat car and now they want to take care of it themselves without messing it up.
Their customer service and money back guarantee reflect this.
The one polish I really want to try is HD UNO, because it is a non diminishing and is clear enough to see your progress without wiping off the product, so I read. Not needing to wipe saves polish and money.

Back to Adam's, I like the company and Adam Pitale seems like a really neat guy, so so I wish him all the success.
I agree it would not be very profitable to detail professionally with Adam's products, unless you like the waxes.

Re: Adam's Polishes an Compounds

Like many, I love Adam's Detail Spray. When I refill the 16 oz. bottle from the gallon I bought from Amazon for $44, I end up with A great QD for a mere $ 5.50/ pint. How much less do I really need to pay?

Griot's Garage Speed Shine is $30 a gallon, for $3.75 a pint.
Griot's Garage Speed Shine Detailer, Griots Garage Speed Shine Spray, quick detailer

Optimum Instant Detailer once diluted, costs $15 a gallon, reducing to $1.88 a pint.
Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer 128 oz. Refill FREE BONUS

Ultima Waterless Wash Plus costs about $4 a gallon once diluted, which comes to 50 cents a pint.
Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ Concentrate, concentrated waterless auto wash, waterless car wash

It's cheaper than Dodo Red Mist, though, which costs $15 a pint.

you think HD UNO is something, there's a video on another detailing discussion forum about a new compound being introduced at sema (HD CUT) which looks very promising and another alternative to M105...

Re: Adam's Polishes an Compounds

I think this is a perfect case for Mike Phillips' favorite saying of "Find something you like and use it often." The only way you can really find out though is by trying it for yourself. Personally, although I like most of Adam's products, I wouldn't recommend their polishes. They just seemed too ineffective for me, especially after I tried Meguiar's and got better results faster.
