Hello everyone, I see that this brush is recommended for cleaning leather seats:
From the forum members that have used it, can you tell me if the brush really works well for cleaning, and is not too harsh on the leather seats? I'm wondering if it will scuff the leather or take off any of the coating on the leather itself if I use it. Is it too harsh?
I have one but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
Was quite surprised by how stiff it is! I know leather in new or excellent condition can take a decent scrubbing but on older vehicles I would be very careful.
I picked up a very similar brush from a hardware store here in Australia but with medium/soft bristles so I can try both & see what works for me & my cars.
Waiting for warm weather here so I can give my leather a good clean/condition with Leatherique then will be trying both these out.
The stiff one (pictured) will definitely be tested in an inconspicuous area first!
Looks just like the brush the was included in my recently purchased Leatherique Kit. The Leatherique worked fine, but didn't use the brush as I thought it appeared a bit too harsh!
Received the mentioned horse hair brush in the RaggTopp kit also recently purchased. I'd be a lot more comfortable with that brush if I felt it was necessary to use a brush on my leather.
the raggtop brush is super soft i use it on covertible tops, tonneau covers, leather anything, floor mats and weather tech mats. You have to wiper or vacuum after because bristles fall out but its an amazing brush other wise.
Thanks everyone. I thought the small brush looked too harsh myself, but I wanted to be sure. I do have a horse hair brush that I will use for the leather instead of this one.
I don't detail for a living, but I do have that small brush and have used it on a few different vehicles with leather interior. I've found that I can put enough pressure on it to remove dirt from deep in the grain of the leather without scuffing it. It doesn't require a lot of pressure to clean leather, but I've done so to get some pretty nasty grime out with no ill effects. To be on the safe side, try it out on a small section of leather in an inconspicuous area. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how well it works.
