Re: Whee corrosion. How to renew

That looks like a plastic overlay I would bet on it! Most likely vacuum plated chrome of some type. If so it's metal over plastic but very thin and pretty easily scratches. Anything with enough abrasives to remove the damage completly will scratch. The edge of the lip is part of the rim itself and can be made to look considerably better. Looks like a Dodge Ram rim to me so another option would be to take them off as in the case of most vehicles that use this the rim looks exactly the same as the cover does minus the chrome. If your dealership has a body shop you could also clean, up and have them sprayed body color or rattle can color and clear with some contrasting color. I am sure those covers are quite expensive from the dealer. For the cover I would go with the never dull solution, seal and call it a day. I've done a few of the larger vacuum plated chrome center caps (the ones that cover the lugs and all with decent results that way).

my a.d.d and that video do not cooperate. I skimmed through and figured it out. Thanks for making the video. Perhaps a shorter version would help.

I learned through trial and error.
My elongated method from open pic on cruizer/copy paste...to webresizer to copy paste...to upload...highlight,,,download was taking forever,

Now its a breeze since i've done it so much.

I am looking forward to sitting through your video several times until I learn the shorter method. Thanks for posting the video for us less inclined forum members.

LMAO! At least you have the determination to keep on trying through the web resizer!

I think one time will be more than enough, it's really simple
