The key to removing swirls and only having to do the job once is to use good pads but also good abrasive technology.
It's really very simple. ANYTHING that touches the paint has to be high quality, especially anything you machine apply and grind into the paint using a machine. Pads are important as is the right tool and technique but the key factor when doing any type of correction work is to use products that use good abrasive technology.
The Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover and Finishing Glaze are very good products that won't let you down. The TSR is a Medium Cut Polish and the Finishing Glazes is a Fine Cut Polish and will tackle just about anything that's in your garage.
I've been here three years now and here's one of the first forum members I helped to remove swirls that was new to machine polishing, take a read through this thread, although it's three years old it's just as accurate today as it was when it wax posted...
