ONR and Collinite 845

I've heard these two have issues. Is there any truth to this? What are the problems? Any help is much appreciated because I love both products but never use them together.

I lightly skimmed this page but couldn't find anything

I've heard of people having "streaking" issues when using ONR as a QD over 845. I haven't had too much trouble with this combo though. I love me some 845. I can live with needing an extra final wipe to remove streaks. That just means I get to experience that sweet, sweet ONR smell that much longer.

No. It was a bonding issue or something.

Re: ONR and Collinite 845

One complaint was the ONR killed the longevity of the 845.

Re: ONR and Collinite 845

I've had the experience that ONR does kill 845 to some degree. I've not had any issues with similar rinseless products. DP rinseless seems to work really well for me with 845.

UWW+ puts ONR to shame.

I have not had the problem, but I use distilled water when I mix ONR or UWW+.

You might also want to try the Duragloss combo, if you are still having a problem with 845. I top with Collonite after applying Duragloss. Works great and am satisfied, which is all that matters.

I'm going get that spot out !!!!

Classic case of the "Detailer's syndrome" right here

I use both but for different things. 90% of my clients get the ONR wash but I use UWW for door jambs and wiping down my own car.

My concern and point of this thread was that I want to use Collinite after I ONR but was concerned that it wouldn't bond. From what I've read that should be fine. I just have to watch out if I ONR the same car a few weeks later.

Re: ONR and Collinite 845

Collinite after ONR will be fine. As I've mentioned on other threads, ONR (at least v2, I haven't used v3 yet) used on 845 had a strange effect for me - completely no slickness on the paint, though it was still beading ok. Other people on various threads and forums have posted similar experiences. Didn't have this issue with DP Rinseless.

Also, about two weeks ago, experienced a similar issue with 915 and ONR, though worse this time - the 915 beading was visibly degraded, particularly for a two-week old application.
