LOL I didn't even notice the user name until you mentioned it, HAHAHA.

To be a successful spammer shouldn't they at least be trying to link to a product or service they are selling? This is just fail on so many levels.

I love that he asks a question that people would be likely to ask and want an answer to, thus helping build the knowledge available on this forum when people search it.

Poor kid, I just feel sorry for him

Well if you look through his posting history, he mostly starts threads but there is one instance where he added a reply to an existing thread, see post #10

Spray wax for tires?

And to date, he hasn't broken any forum rules. Quite frankly, in all my life in the forum world I've never seen anything like it. The norm would be for one day some commercial links to show up in his Sig Line.

Wow, he answered! And it was actually helpful. Perhaps the answer is simply that he is forum-challenged, an internet neophyte.

Dear AGO forum member George Brown:

-Let me start by saying: Your situation(s) may be entirely different than mine;
and, I personally have no knowledge of your: 'Work History'

-However, the only way I'd ever work at any of these two franchises would be to:
-Supplement my current monthly income for: 'Big-Boy-Toys'
-Socialization with some folks of the: outside-of-the-home-World
-Mess with some "still wet behind the ears" Boss. or two.
-'Cause the Wife wants me 'outta her hair', so to speak.

-With that said...
Most McDonald's fast food franchises in my State pay more
than either the Federal and my State's minimum wage.

One of the biggest differences, that I see, between:
An "auto repair shop"-job, (that seems to have piqued your interest);
and, a: "fast food franchise"-job...
Is the different type of grease one may encounter.

Anyway...Here's some information that may be of interest to your thread starter's question:

The Department of Labor's: Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)---Wage and Hour Division...
Governs the amount of the hourly pay rates,
accociated with the different segments of 'doing business' in the USA.

With that in mind:

Employer: Pep Boys Automotive
Median Hourly Rate by Years Experience

Years Experience
Less than 1 year.......... $8.24
1-4 years.................... $8.86
5-9 years.................... $13.40
10-19 years................ $14.13
20 years or more......... $19.99

Employer: Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.
Median Hourly Rate by Years Experience

Years Experience
1-4 years.................... $11.65
5-9 years.................... $15.48
10-19 years................ $16.22
20 years or more......... $16.00

And just for the heck of it:

Employer: McDonald's Corporation
Median Hourly Rate by Years Experience

Years Experience
Less than 1 year............$7.91
1-4 years......................$8.04
5-9 years......................$9.81
10-19 years..................$9.24
20 years or more..........$16.25

I do not know where you currently reside...
But if you live in Ohio...
this is the current minimum wage scale:

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________

-I will caution against: Living/Working in America Samoa, though!

Wage Rates in American Samoa:

-The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) applies to employment within American Samoa
as it does to employment within the United States.
Prior to July 24, 2007, the minimum wage rates for American Samoa were set
by a special industry committee appointed by the U.S. Department of Labor.

-The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 (Public Law 110-28) set minimum wage rates within
American Samoa and provides for additional increases
in the minimum wage of $0.50 per hour each year on May 25,
until reaching the minimum wage generally applicable in the United States.

-An amendment to the Act included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 changed
the date of annual increase from May 25 to September 30.

-On September 30, 2010, President Obama signed H.R. 3940 into law,
postponing the minimum wage increase for 2010 and 2011.

-On July 26, 2012, President Obama signed S. 2009 into law,
postponing the minimum wage increase for 2012, 2013, and 2014.

-Annual wage increases of $0.50 will recommence on September 30, 2015, and continue every
three years until all rates have reached the federal minimum.

Since the "auto repair shops"-jobs falls under this pay-rate in America Samoa:

Miscellaneous Activities Minimum Hourly Wage Rates in American Samoa
(This industry shall include every activity not included in any other industry defined herein.)

Here's its wage scale:

Effective Dates
May 25, 2009...............$4.20
September 30, 2015.....$4.70
(with a $.50 increase every third year thereafter,
until meeting the Federal minimum wage amount)

-Doesn't seem fair to the America Samoans to be treated thusly by our Government's Leaders...
Shame, Shame on them, IMO.
