I don't have a carpet extractor. But I wonder if you put vinegar in the tank where the dirty water is, if that will kill the smell.

Anyone think it will work?

I was wondering if anybody else had this problem hahahaha! Mine smells like straight diarrhea sometimes. If you empty it often it doesn't get as bad, but sometimes it just stinks!

Anybody know of something you can put in the holding tank to neutralize the freaking horrible smell?

I dispose of the water in the grass. Does anybody else do it differently?

I empty it as soon as I'm done using it, and always rinse out the waste tank with the water hose a couple of times after I'm done extracting.

You need to CLEAN at the end of a days use!!! If you forget to clean or cleaned something with a bad smell, clean holding tank and spray with an enzyme

I carry 2 empty 5gal buckets with lids to put dirty water in and dispose of at home. Never at the clients.

Hope this helps

I don't have an extractor "yet" but I would think that a dilution of Clorox bleach and water should kill what ever bacteria is causing the foul odor. I'm assuming that the tank is plastic.
