Help with a scratch

Hello every one new to the boards

As the title say I have a brand new car (less then a month old) and low and behold as I am washing and using a quick detail I see a scratch all ready. After being pissed I continued my detailing and hopped on to ask people who know more then me.

I have some products at my house I have never used compounds of things of that nature. here is a link to the kit I got THE BEST BLACK CAR PAINT CAR CARE KIT POLISH & WAX
Any help would be great. here is a picture of the scratch

Re: Help with a scratch

The scratch is not very deep I can barely feel it with my finger nail.
If it comes to this I would want to try it on another car before mine since I have never done anything like that to a car. ( I.E. find an old junker car with a scratch on it)

And thank you for the link

Re: Help with a scratch

Are you planning on doing this by hand or buffer (rotary or DA)?
There are a lot of YouTube videos on wet sanding. If you aren't comfortable doing that, you can still try to improve the appearance of the scratch with Meguiars M105 then M205.

Re: Help with a scratch

If you've got a DA you may want to try to hit it with some M105 and 205. That combo worked great on a scratch on my fiancee's RX350.

Re: Help with a scratch

The scratch looks pretty light, not too deep. I've had great luck in dealing with scratches like that using M105 & M205 and rubbing it out by hand with a MF Towel. We just detailed a 1959 Alpha Romeo and did a few scratches around the door handles using this process.

Re: Help with a scratch

Where are you at? It might be cheaper to pay someone then trying to purchase everything

That scratch would be super simple to remove

Re: Help with a scratch

One thanks for the all responds and info. I don't have a buffer but I want to get one down the road. maybe a flex or something along those lines. So for now it would be by hand. I live in South Florida area. in Fort lauderdale area. If I get some time away from doing family stuff today I will try to remove it today
