Good pad/polish swirl removing kit???

Just purchased a Porter Cable 7424!!!

Want to get a put together kit of pads, polishes etc. (Do I need anything specific to attach pads on the PC?)

Don't want to break the bank, but want to be able to remove medium and light swirls and make a car pop.

Already did tons of research and was about to pull the trigger on the XMT kit, but found it wasn't what I wanted based on this forum.

Any and all input is greatly apreciated!

Re: Good pad/polish swirl removing kit???

To keep things simple I would really look into the Meg MF system. It is simple and IMO great for a beginner.

There are many options of pads and products and alot of us will tell you differently but the Meg MF system is my suggestion. Maybe pick up a few pads that can be used just to apply wax/sealant.

I think this is a great way to begin. It's a simple yet very effective system.

From here you can add some other foam pads and products in order to experiment or fine tune a finish...

Porter Cable 7424, backing plate, and pads

Polishes
Some additional products you might like.

Sealants
Wax

Sounds great. Ordering the meguiars MF 5 inch kit. Any other things I should add or sub in place? Pad cleaners, other wax etc.

Also do I need a special plate or will the one in the kit work?

Re: Good pad/polish swirl removing kit???

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I already bought a GG 6" and the Meg's 5.5" kit. If I want to use something different as a LSP, what do I do? Use both steps of the Meg's system then add the LSP? Or use the first step to correct, then use a polish with foam or the Meg's 2nd step pads, then LSP?
Please fill me in on this and I should be good to go. I'd like to use WGDGPS as my LSP or use it and then top with a wax or 845. Thanks much, Spiney-Dave

Btw I'm going to see a factory demo of the Meg's system next Tuesday with Tuscarora Dave near Harrisburg PA.

The Kit comes with the backing plate to mount the pads.
