I've read that microfiber pads have tremendous cut and defect removal ability. However I wanted to know I there is a difference among the two brands of pads.

Bama Boy is spot on from what I read about Megs on a Flex. No one said they were happy with it. I tried the Optimum 6.25" on my Flex for cutting and it blew me away! Much faster than a DA and was near finished. I prefer to finish with foam and jewel with a rotary and gold pad.

Why is not good for a rotary? I was wondering about that because they are usually meant for DA's just don't know the reasoning behind it and the fact that optimum has them for rotary is even more confusing

In a nutshell, the mechanics of a rotary don't bode well for a MF pad, IMO. You could use Meg's pads on a rotary, too, they just might separate quicker. Supposedly, the Optimum pads have better adhesive material than the Meg's pads. Not sure how true this is, though.

So the MF pads work better with the DA vs. rotary? I just used a optimum MF polishing pad with my rotary and was impressed. If the DA is better that will be really cool.
