Done with Sheepskin/Wool Wash-Media.

A while back I wrote a review on these Sheepskin-wash pads, which I really liked at the time, and they work great

They still work great, but I have one really big issue with them; maintenance.

Why is this a problem? It's pretty straight forward as far as care goes: rinse them off well and line-dry them.

Well, in a nutshell, because this is the only method I have found for properly maintaining them. This is a problem for me because I am on time constraints with my washes because of work/school, and I'd like something much more forgiving and durable.

With the last two, I found myself carefully rinsing them off and hanging them over the side of the wash bucket, which may be an error on my part for being too lazy to going inside and getting something to hang them on the line with.

The last pad met a terrible fate, hung it on the rim of the bucket in a mad rush while getting ready for work or something....Then arriving home to find that it had not dried. (So I figured I'd leave it to dry for another day). After checking the next evening to see if it had dried, I found it floating in the bucket with some dead mosquitoes, and it smelled horrible... It found its new home in the trash. These are not very forgiving indeed.

So now what?

I’m looking into a big boars-hair brush after having used the SV wheel brush with success. I think these will be a bit more forgiving (If not, the expense of it will hold me to an attitude of taking good care of it.)

Depending on how things over the next few weeks go, that may be my best choice.

I like the bone mf pads or you could go for one of the AG or Griot's muppet-head things. Don't you put your wash media on your grit-guard after you empty your bucket so air can get to both sides of it?

I think if you try Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt you will be hooked.

I'm still using chenille wash pads, not much of a fan of MF wash media. Guess I'm just old school.

I totally feel you Ted. I have/had a couple of those exact sheep skin wash pads. I placed and an order last night and ordered a new chenille wash mit because I have the same complaints with them as you! Something about the bushes I still don't feel safe with.
