Meguiar's leather conditioner destroyed my seats!
I have a 2008 Hyundai Entourage with tan leather seats. Last night I cleaned them with Meguiar's Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner spray, followed by their Gold Class Leather Conditioner spray.
I started by cleaning the passenger side front seat, then the passenger side captains chair, then the drivers seat and finally the drivers side captains chair. I then applied the leather conditioner in the same manner as the cleaner. Once finished, it appeared that the conditioner didn't cover the seats evenly, so I added a second coat of the conditioner. When I started the second coat on the drivers seat, I noticed that the color was wiping off. By the time I finished wiping off the seat I had an area of about 6" in diameter where the color is missing. The drivers side captains chair also has color missing now... just not as bad as the front seat.
I am really bummed out about this. Why do you think this happened? More importantly, how do I fix it?

Pics? Have you owned the vehicle since it was new?
In my experience those products are very safe and I wonder if the seat/seats may have been re-dyed at some point, which is
not to uncommon with light colored leather.

Are you sure thats not just where the dirt was removed?
Those seats are vinyl coated, the color is trapped beneath 1mm of clear plastic vinyl which the Meguiar product will never reach.

sounds like the coating on your leather which protected the colour coat is gone and now so is the colour.
Only option is to dye and coat the seat or replace the leather.
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

Kind of a picture of your seats... like these?
Perhaps call Meguiar's Customer Care Hotline and see if they have a remedy, maybe they've run into this before as they keep a database of issues related to products.
The phone number will be on the back of the label.

Sorry for your pain. I know this is a little late for you, but it's always good to try a new product out on an area that isn't noticeable first.

I think pictures of the "damage" done are more than necessary for such a bold claim against Meguiar's.

I actually did. Plus, I didn't see the damage on the first two seats

Re: Meguiar's leather conditioner destroyed my seats!
Cause and effect...
- Action - Cleaned seats with Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner & Conditioner
- Reaction - Clean seats. No cosmetic problems
- Action - Cleaned seats with Meguiar's Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner and Gold Class Leather Conditioner (same variables as above. i.e. temps, sun, microfiber towel, etc.)
- Reaction - Color damage on two seats
In my eyes, Meguiar's leather conditioner destroyed my seats. The Turtle Wax product surely didn't.

Do post some pictures, that would help us possibly determine what's going on, and if there is possibly a remedy for you other than re-dying the seats or replacing the leather. Personally, I've pretty much used strictly Meguiar's products on my vehicles with no issues. In fact I use the Gold Glass leather wipes and the conditioner\cleaner on my rare and hard to replace seats with no trouble.
As suggested above, call Meguiars and speak with their customer care department, they may be able to do something for you.
BTW, not trying to say you didn't have a bad experience, I have no doubt you did, just stating my personal experience with the products.
