SF4000 same as PO106FA?

I ordered some PO106FA from AG and received a bottle labelled SF4000. Is it the same thing?

Additionally, the aggressiveness scale graphic on the bottle shows it being very near the 'fine' point. About 1.5/5, whereas PO106FA is about 2.5/5. The pointer should be in the middle? :dunno:

First I'd like to say I LOVE the new packaging and product identifying names as at least now there's a similar naming system in place.

This is from like page 320 of my e-book, it's coded like you see it because all products and links in the book are like this in the rough draft form per Yancy's request but it shows new names and old part numbers in parenthesis. And "yes" the products you asked about are the same thing.

Mike, is there some explanation of the new numbering system? Is that supposed to represent some cut level? Grit level? Grit level of scratches it is supposed to remove?

It seems like a good idea but my first blush is it's really giving us less nuanced info than the old cut/gloss rating system...of course, it could be argued that was too much info to start with.

Heh heh, yeah this is my first post here. I've bought a bazillion products from AG over the years but never felt the need to post. I guess I missed talking to you over at MOL and needed an excuse to catch up here, heh, heh.

Yeah, the new labelling looks great. The abrasive scale seems quite inaccurate though.

What's the e-book your referring to? Been moonlighting Mike? ;)

Thanks Mike, they look great and when you line them all up like that you certainly get the idea of the progression of cut. There's also obviously some color-coding...that seems to go along with the cut...but not sure if there is a "deeper" meaning to the colors, or whether it simply a method of grouping compounds, medium polishes, final polishes, etc.

I also noticed that according to your list, FPII isn't in the new numbering system?

EDIT: I just found that Menz USA has a nice website, but they don't have anything about this new packaging or numbering system, or oddly, Power Lock...

As you know, creating some type of rhyme or reason to product naming and numbering seems to be a challenge for everyone in this industry, I thought Menzerna had the worst system and next to them is the 3M numbering system... so I really like the new packaging and numbering system. It will make it easier to refer to the different product into the future as everyone gets used to the changes.

There's going to be some changes to the line-up... can't share everything right now...

Oh thank heavens they're getting things inline so its not as confusing.

Seriously should I buy the Super Finish Gloss!@!@! Or the Super POWER FINISH GLOSS enhancer 3000??!!! Oh wait the Finish Gloss is a Compound and the Finish Gloss Enhancer 3000 is zero abrasive chemical cleaner...

Always had to look at the charts but this makes things so much simple.
 
how does power finish, intensive polish and final polish (87MC) fit into the new line or are they going to kill it??
