Mark i never tried the forever black on seals or rubber .I use it for the plastic black cladding that turns white. In the past with really stained rubber seals like the ones that go around the windshield i like to clean them with a tooth brush and some APC . After a good scrubbing I use 303 or some other trim restorer like the Poor Boys even used the Mothers brand products . I actually try what ever I have on hand and try test spots .

Ah ha! You were the one with the toothbrush tip! I think... Anyway I followed this tip with (Griots Rubber cleaner) and a toothbrush on window seals and over a period of months doing it each time I washed and they were eventually restored.

Assuming we are talking rubber (exterior window seal type)...

For protection: Dg 531 or UTTG (adpating the application and removal as needed)

Both require a good buffing after the proper wait time on most window seals.

Since I don't have any teeth I have a lot of extra toothbrushes so I found some great uses for them

I've used Forever Black on grained trim and it was excellent. Never used it on anything else though. I have a piece of smooth plastic trim that was lightly scuffed and black Turtle Wax Color Magic worked wonders for that.

Sorry Mark, I've never tried Forever Black. I have tried other products like Poorboy's World Trim Restorer, Meguiar's Ultimate protectant and both work very well.

OK, I know we were talking about rubber/plastic molding here, but what about black anodized aluminum trim?

My Mercedes has a bunch of black anodized trim (running up the side of the front window and roof rails, and also under the side windows). They just look like hell. Oxidized, purple hued, and blotchy. Hard to believe it looks so bad after only 4 years! I tried clay bar, and a few other products but none have any affect so far.

I used to work in the aluminum finishing business, so I know what's involved with anodized aluminum (porous finish, dye absorbed, sealed in), so I don't really have much hope, but I thought maybe somebody has come across a miracle product for these types of pieces.

I like Einszett Rubber Stick. It also seems water resistant and seems quite durable too.
