Yesterday I decided to try out P21S gel wheel cleaner for the first time. I must say I really liked that product. Let's start with a bottle design - it's small (16.9 oz), very easy to hold in a hand when working. Product itself - gel - is not as thick DP gel wheel cleaner. I has a light cleaning chemical smell, but again very light. Spray nozzle works very well, giving you a fine mist (I personally think bottle/sprayer itself works better then DP bottle/sprayer). I tried it on my mom's Infiniti that I posted detailing of before.
Anyway, back to the point. I sprayed all 4 wheels, then came back to the first one and slightly scrubbed fist wheel with OXO Ergonomic Wheel Brush.
This is my favorite wheel brush, I love it because of rubber handle design, it works when wet. Tires were scrubbed with OXO Ergonomic tire brush, which work very well on tires. I has stiff bristles, and works well on baked dirt.
After removing all dirt with a brush, I rinsed wheel and tire. Then I moved on to the next one.
After doing all four I dried them all with Mothers Wheel and Jamb towel.

This car doesn't dust a lot, but again it does not get any wheel glaze, so brake dust was very little. I gets a bi-weekly wash.

Looking at this gel wheel cleaner closer, I will tell you that it was designed for German cars, which dust a lot, and when are getting infrequent cleaning - brake dust just cakes in. Product itself is very safe, but is a little pricey.

I will though try DP gel wheel cleaner in this bottle once I run out.

Good review! One question though. How does it's cleaning ability compare to the DP?

Well, I haven't tested it on my girlfriend's BMW (caked on dust will really put it to a test), so on Infiniti it's about the same.

Your right about it probably being made for german cars, BMW's and Mercedes have brake dust from hell. Buddies M5 can cake the wheels in less then a week, I can go about a month in my suv with very little brake dust.

P21S is one of the safest wheel cleaners and endorsed by many wheel companies. Great even on uncoated wheels. You will need to agitate it though, as no acids used in it makeup.

Yes, it does needs a brush. OXO works just fine, and is the best IMO.

The gel: Is it OK to let it sit on the wheels for a while BEFORE agitating it? Or is this a product you need to agitate into the wheels right away and then let sit?

you can allow it to sit for some time, but always have found some agitation is needed. The gel is thicker and last longer than the liquid.

agitation is needed. Let gel sit on wheel for at least 15-20 minutes, then agitate and rinse.
