Flat black paint on metal...roof racks

I was washing my wife's FJ Crusier this past weekend. She has the full roof rack and the brush guard on the front bumper. It is fairly heavy metal painted with flat black paint. I noticed that in a couple of places there seems to be just the smallest start of fading. Just curious as to what might be out there, if anything, to protect this paint?

    Thanks

hmmmm good question Fred. Is this fading really just deposits from hard water? I wonder if good cleaning with a paint cleaner and a sealant would get it back to looking new? Nice MS3 btw.

Thanks for the response guys and thanks for the compliment on my Speed.

I will try to clean and then seal them. Now it is not exactly a smooth finish, though I would not call it a crinkle finish either. Any forseen problems cleaning them with a paint cleaner?

I use Klasse AIO (chemical cleaner with some acrylic protection) and then coat with sealant currently using on paint. Weekly I go over them with the spray wax or spray sealant I am using like Souveran Spray Wax.
