...should XMT 1 and a white pad on the Flex clean it up?

The car is only three years old, but the hot Florida sun does things to headlights if you don't keep up with them.

I read something some time ago about the material used in headlamps being the actual culprit. I guess Lexan and other plastics are used and often have no UV protection and can discolor as they degrade likely due to heat.

I have used the Wolfgang Kit with nice success but suggest anyone that has indeed repair the lamps consider having them clearcoated or apply some protection as often as possible. I now apply Plexus or DP Plex All at each wash session and seems to be preventive maintenance on exposed headlamps.

Thanks, killr. This is just the start of some clouding, and I was hoping to nip it in the bud (and do maintenance as you suggest forever after) before it got worse.

I guess what I'll do is try the XMT and the white pad and if I don't like, then graduate to a lens polishing product.

Meguiar's has the new PlasticX headlight restorer kit. It sounds like that would be just right for you.

If you're going to use your machine, make sure the polish is safe to use on plastic.

I use this and it works great. After washing, I use DP Plex-all like killr does. I think it's better than plexus.
Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner will clean and clarify plastic lens covers!

I would try Plast X first. If you need more then try polishes. SIP, M105, 85rd and M205 are what I have used to polish headlights with great results. I then use FK 1000p to seal.
